What's This All About?
Wally and Abel have been counting down the days until Community Serve Day — a Sunday in August when our church and others pause their regular Sunday morning services and instead meet at schools to do projects. When we were thinking about how the boys might want to celebrate their birthdays (both at the end of April) we got the idea to see if a mini community serve day would be possible. Both boys were very excited about the idea.
So with that… We would love if you could join us to celebrate Wally and Abel for a birthday bash: Moorlands Elementary community serve day style!
Come in your work clothes and be prepared to weed, shovel bark, plant flowers, and empower kiddos to get a chance to learn the joys of serving together! If you have gardening tools, especially child-size shovels and wheelbarrows, please consider throwing those in your trunk to use and share. We will have tape and a pen to label your tools so they return to the right person at the end.
